Fishing in Sargent

The fishing is great in Sargent.  You can fish Caney Creek, the Intracoastal Waterway, East Matagoda Bay, or the Gulf of Mexico.
You don't need a boat to enjoy great fishing in Sargent.  There is easy access to fish the Intracoastal Waterway, and the Gulf of Mexico, or you can take a beach drive over to Mitchells Cut or Cedar Lake.  If you fish the Intracoastal Waterway, Mitchells Cut you can use a variety of lures and baits.  Soft plastics as well as gold spoons are good to have in your tackle box.  You can purchase live or dead baits from one of the many marina's located in Sargent.
If you have a boat, you can enjoy fishing in all area's of Sargent.  If you like redfish, try fishing East Matagorda Bay.  You can also catch speckled trout in East Matagorda Bay as well as Caney Creek.  The Intracoastal Waterway will give you a variety of fish from catfish, sheepshead, red and black drum.  Mitchells Cut is also a great place for boat fishing.  Large boats can venture out to the Gulf of Mexico and enjoy deep sea fishing.
